Yaowen’s research sits at the intersection of accounting and financial economics, examining how accounting and non-accounting information shape capital markets, regulatory design, corporate governance, financial reporting quality and executive compensation.

His record includes more than 50 research publications and over A$2 million in competitive research funding, including four ARC Discovery Grants.

Ricky examines how legal, political and financial institutions shape corporate investment, innovation, governance and environmental outcomes, with a strong empirical focus on Chinese firms and policy reforms.

Jo-Ann is a researcher and industry practitioner with expertise in entrepreneurial finance. Her research examines how venture capital, private equity and government funding influence firm performance, innovation and economic growth.

She has contributed to policy development and strategic initiatives for corporations, industry associations and government agencies through her research and advisory work. She supports early-stage ventures through her role on the Executive Committee of Sydney Angels, as a mentor with accelerators such as the Founder Institute and as an independent advisor.
